Context

‍

Responsible for the maintenance of rolling stock, the Rolling Stock Division ensures a high level of industrial performance for the SNCF Group and its customers. 

For the SNCF group, this involves managing the maintenance of nearly 17,000 rolling stock units, in order to ensure the mobility of people and goods. The Equipment Division also assists its customers with the engineering of new equipment purchases. 

The Data Office Matériel implements data governance for SNCF Matériel. The internship is part of the "Data Heritage" component.

This component includes: 

- The implementation of a data catalog tool to consolidate and structure the knowledge of the data (parameterization, operating modes and training) 

- Definition of the feeding strategy (priorities, roles,..) 

- The establishment of an office to handle requests for access to data knowledge

Data management

• Training in data governance

Steering

• Put in place the tools to manage the feeding of the Data Catalogue (file of follow-up of the contributors and of the progress) 
• Ensure the update of this steering file 
• To support the data manager in animating the network of contributors
• To be a force of proposal for the evolutions on these tools / training supports

Heritage Office

• Contribute to the structuring of operating procedures for responses to requests from the Heritage office (proposed operating procedures, indicators, monitoring files, questionnaires, etc.) 
• Ensure the updating of the tools for monitoring the activity of the heritage office 
• Directing requests for a 1st level response in the case of simple requests 
• Depending on the schedule, contribute to the preparation of the SNCF 2023 Datathon on the knowledge of the data made available to participants 
  

Use of the data catalog

• Training in the Data Galaxy tool (a market tool) 
• Assist applicants in searching for information (help initialize responses made to the Heritage office)

- Presential on Monday and Tuesday in St Denis. 

- Telecommuting from Wednesday to Friday 

- End of study engineering internship - 6 months or Work-study
