Vivatech 2024 Highlight: AI at the Heart of Innovation

VivaTech 2024 once again proved why it is the world's must-attend event for technology and innovation. After an already record-breaking 2023 edition, this year's edition surpassed all expectations, with over 165,000 visitors (+10% on 2023) and 13,500 startups (+20% on 2023). But beyond the numbers, it's the overall impact of VivaTech that makes the show a catalyst for innovation, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence (AI).

A unique meeting place

VivaTech 2024 was a real business and financing gas pedal, with over 400,000 digital business connections and palpable enthusiasm among industry players. More than 2,000 investors, including giants such as Accel, KKR, Lightspeed, Sequoia Capital, and GV (Google Ventures), were on hand to explore opportunities with startups from over 25 industries. Xavier Niel, founder of Free and tech visionary, emphasized the importance of these interactions, saying, "VivaTech is the fertile ground where ideas turn into reality thanks to strategic connections and investor support."

International appeal

With participants from over 120 countries and some 40 national pavilions, VivaTech has become an international crossroads. Japan, designated Country of the Year, showcased its technological ecosystem with a ministerial delegation and over 40 startups. Africa, with its Africa Tech Lab and AfricaTech Awards, also showed its dynamism with innovative startups in the fields of Climate Tech, Health Tech, FinTech and E-commerce. Bernard Arnault, Chairman of LVMH, presided over the LVMH Innovation Awards, reinforcing the link between technology and luxury.

AI and Sustainable Tech at Center Stage

Artificial intelligence was at the heart of VivaTech's programming this year, with almost 40% of exhibitors showcasing AI innovations. AI Avenue was the hotspot where the latest AI solutions were unveiled, ranging from healthcare to mobility. VivaTech's commitment to responsible tech materialized through the Impact Bridge, dedicated to innovations with a positive impact. Maurice Lévy, co-president of VivaTech, said, "AI and sustainable tech are not just trends, but necessities for building an inclusive and sustainable future."

Diversity at the Heart of the Event

VivaTech once again put the spotlight on diversity, with more than 40% of speakers on the show's stages being women. The Female Founder Challenge, supported by Mazars, JCDecaux and Verizon, rewarded Albane Dersy, co-founder of inbolt. The 100 + 100 mentoring program brought together young girls and influential women in tech to encourage vocations. The presence of Femtech France, and the launch of its 2nd Femtech industry barometer, demonstrated VivaTech's commitment to women's health.

A Focus on Exclusives and Innovations

VivaTech is also the place for global and European announcements, with revelations such as BiPed AI, robotics software for the visually impaired, and Tesla's Cybertruck, presented for the first time in France. These exclusives demonstrate VivaTech's ability to attract the most cutting-edge innovations and present them to an international audience.

In conclusion, VivaTech 2024 not only broke records in terms of participation, but also consolidated its position as the global meeting place for technology and innovation. As François Bitouzet, Managing Director of Viva Technology, pointed out, "We succeeded in creating a bridge between Europe, Asia and America, redefining the debate around innovation and technology." VivaTech continues to be the place where the contours of the global technological future are shaped, with AI and sustainable tech at the forefront.
